Boosted in Every Way
Previously Porsche have used the GT2 RS designation of their the most successful model back in 2011. That car was a true racecar for everyday usage – turbocharged 620 HP engine, combined with 6-speed manual and rear-wheel drive only. The all-new model for 2018 has received 3.8L boxer 6 cylinder engine borrowed from Turbo S, but boosted even more – up to 700 HP and 553 ft-lb of torque. The engine has unique options like titanium exhaust and a system of intercooler water injection. The unit is mated with 7-speed double clutch gearbox.
2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Specs and Performance
The company tries to make an ultimate 911, so they don’t only put an extra power to the engine, but also put the car on a strong diet – it is 300 pounds lighter than Turbo S and just a bit heavier than track-oriented 911 GT3. Light weight and lots of power means the record-breaking performance (at least for 911 family): just 2.7 seconds to sixty and 211 miles per hour of top speed. To improve handling at high speeds, 911 GT2 RS 2018 also get a rear wheels steering (AWS system), ultra wide rear tires (325/30 R21) and carbon ceramic brakes as a standard.
