2019 Ford Ranger Raptor – Ford dialed up the pickup game to an intense level when it officially confirmed the Ranger Raptor for 2018 a few months ago. A new report from Australia’s Motoring says Ford will unleash its new Ranger Raptor performance pickup on February 7, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.
A few weeks after announcement of the Ford Ranger Raptor, Ford Philippines Managing Director Bertrand Lessard announced market release of the 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor for late 2018 to early 2019.
It will reportedly come with a new diesel engine under the hood, quashing earlier rumors of a high-performance EcoBoost petrol engine to be fitted. It is very likely that Ford will be fitting a variation of their new 2.0-liter EcoBlue developed in the UK which is capable of over 200 PS and over 400 Nm of torque.
The new engine will replace the 2.2-liter ZSD-422 Puma series Duratorq TDCi engine which was introduced back in 2005.
The Ranger Raptor is also being rumored to feature a rear multi-link coil spring suspension setup from its PPV derivative – the Everest. This is likely to provide the level of performance demanded from a ‘Raptor’ branded truck.
While the 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor is still under heavy disguise, what we can establish is that it will feature an F-150 Raptor-insipired radiator grill with large bold ‘FORD’ letters. Fenders will also be muscled up to fit larger wheels and all-terrain tires.
The 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor is expected to make its official auto show debut at the 39th Bangkok International Motor Show.
