Set to make its official at the 2018 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), Jeep stated that the updated Cherokee will have an authentic and more premium design, along with a more fuel efficient powertrain.

Based on the images provided, the Cherokee gets a minor nip and tuck in both the front and rear fascias. Beginning with the former, the ‘dual headlight’ design is no more as Jeep gave the 2019 Cherokee a more contemporary look. It gets reshaped headlights, a redesigned front bumper and new foglight bezels.

At the back, smoked taillights replace the old units while the license plate holder is now placed on the tailgate itself. A redesigned rear bumper and what appears to be elongated exhaust pipe finishers complete the revisions at the back of the 2019 Cherokee. Completing it all are what appear to be new alloy wheels although the ones seen here appear to be for the Limited trim.

Inside, the cabin appears relatively the same as the pre-facelift model. The only changes that can be seen on the 2019 Cherokee are the tweaked gauges, updated Uconnect infotainment system and new trim pieces.

Powertrain options were not yet mentioned although it is highly likely that the 2.4-liter MultiAir 2 Tigershark inline-four and 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 will be carried-over for the refresh. The nine-speed automatic gearbox may also see further use in the 2019 Cherokee.

Complete details about the 2019 Jeep Cherokee will be revealed on January 16 during the 2018 NAIAS.
